Quail fever?

I hatched bobwhites and Jumbo Giants. So far.. I hate them. They're crazy and wild. Open their "door" and poof! Away they go..
I think I may try some Courtnix - they are supposed to be a calmer bird.. after I MURDER THESE.

Coturnix are MUCH less crazy.

In fact, it is hard not to get REALLY attached to them.

I'm currently searching for the perfect quail to raise. I'm looking for calmness, good lay, and possibly meat (though I personally don't think I could. I'll have to get DH or my F-i-L to do that.)

I've always been a bit interested in them, and since chickens are so much fun, I thought I'd try them out.

Also they're sweethearts! And cry i fhtey see you coming (cuz they know its' the dumby with the food)! it's cute like a turkey yelk almost (but very quiet).
