Yes one roo to 8 hens is okay ratio but may not be too good for fertilizing the eggs. I had 1 roo in with several hens and he picked the hens that he liked and left the rest alone. The only reason I know this is because when I went to set the eggs only half of them were fertile. If your cage will support two roos I would recommend that. But trying to find two roos that get along is another issue entirely.
