My quail got diagnosed with parasites from the vet and I've got some food with a substance to get rid of the parasites. She's not eating the food that will get rid of them because she's got parasites. Shall I mix some feed with water like a porridge substance and syringe feed her?

I can't advise you with that, but I am curious as to what kind of parasite and whether you keep her on ground. I have just started with bobwhites and am keeping them on ground, not in the air on wire.

hope someone replies..and let us know how it goes.

I've heard that if you supply some sand to them they'll dust bathe and that reduces the parasites. Not 100% sure though, it might just prevent them.

Dust bathing does nothing for internal parasites.

So sorry your bird is sick. If she's not eating she is not getting the medicine. Here are some excellent threads on tube feeding, but keep in mind you need to gear everything to a micro sized bird so smaller everything. Plus you will need to blend the feed very fine to fit through the tube.

I don't know what sort of parasite and I am keeping her in cage that's not on the ground. Also I have syringe fed her but I have worked out a different method that's not so time consuming which is just taking the pellets and putting them on her tongue and she'll swallow them! She pooped when I was feeding her and it wasn't runny :) but i'm worried about when she'll eat and drink by herself and she is also still puffing up:(, any ideas? I also have to syringe feed water to her because she's not drinking.
