Quail hatch DONE....PICS 1st POST

Well I thought my hatch was done today....I got 52 chicks in the brooder and had 71 eggs make it to the hatcher. Well I was sorting through the hatched shells and the eggs still left...when I heard cracking. I was like WHAT....and noticed one egg was about to hatch. So I seperated the hatched egg shells from the eggs that are left and now have.....1 chick almost out....1 chick pipped...2 eggs rock. And the chicks were all due to hatch tuesday but the majority came yesterday.

maybe your heat was low so it delayed the hatch well lucky you congratz

Congrats on a great hatch!!!! Mine have been running about 2-3 days late too - gotta be the cold. They are tough little things!!!!

quail are famous for that,, some havehad some hatch after they thought they were done,, up to 4 or 5 days later

I know thats why I always leave all my eggs in the bator for at least 2-5 days after they are suppose to be hatched. First quail hatch of 2009....couldn't be happier.......WELL.....I would have liked to hatch more Ginger Coturnix than 1....but hoping it's a male. Also will probably be just getting more eggs from the breeder soo.

Ummmm is that comment really called for....I'm not complaining at all. And I have the right to want more than just the one of that color. I'm serious about what I do...and I do it well. Been keeping poultry for 5 years..you?

Yes I have one hatch going now that is taking forever! I am on day what ---- 23 and still have just one chick and a few other pips. They just love making us wait. At least they hatch quick once they decide to come out.
