I had 11 jumbo Coturnix set with 3-15 hatch date (yesterday) I had 2 hatch on Sunday & 2 more hatch Monday with a 3rd dis after pip yesterday. How long should I give the remaining eggs? None have pipped or wiggling. I have 34 more I need to set asap & another 15 in my other incubator.

If I need to give these longer could I move them to the smaller incubator or would that hurt them to move now?

The hatch sounds like it is done, but in case of stragglers wait until tomorrow, then start the next batch.

With such a prolonged hatch, it may be that your incubator has warmer spots; something to check out. Moving the eggs location would stop the prolonged hatch. Check, though, to make sure there are no hotspots that would cause the eggs to die.

since yesterday was the hatch date, its possible the early hatchers were in warmer spots in the incubator. It's possible that some are still going, give then until tomorrow at least and then candle them, looking carefully for movement. If you need to, by that point if you still arent sure, as an absolute last precaution you could do a float test, again looking for movement from the eggs, but you must make absolutely sure that there are no external pips before doing this.

If there are no external pips, you *could* move them to another incubator, being careful not to turn the eggs as you do, if the temp and humidity will be the exact same,
*but* being so close to a hatch I think it would be far safer to leave them were they are for just one or two more days. A little more time

It’s very possible that I have warm spots. I’m using a Little Giant still air but I purchased & installed a fan kit but it still may have warmer spots. I’ll go back to rotating their positions around the bator with the next batch. Thank you.

Going by weight & float test one was a dud I cracked it to be sure & it was definitely an early quitter. The others had the perfect buoyancy & I thought I saw movement but couldn’t be sure. I moved them all to one side & went ahead & set my new eggs I’ll give them the rest of the day then they’re out

Let us know what happens in the end, when you do go to remove them, I would go ahead and open them up too, just to be certain that they've quit (perhaps open from above the air cell to be certain).
