Quail hatch ?

14 day in . Went to pull the turner ...... well I never plugged it in . What are the odds that any of my eggs hatch ?

Robby from JMF wrote that all of his incubators were full and he had a load of excess eggs that did not sell. He placed (I believe over 1000 eggs) into a hatcher with no turner and just let it go. He reported over a 50% hatch.

I would say that at this point in the game, ride it out, some should hatch assuming everything else is on par.

My guess is 60%.. Friend of mine did the same thing and I believe he had about a 60% hatch. Let us know I'm curious.

Will do . My first hatch didn't go to well . 12 out of 60 . I had a bunch of young birds . Didn't give them enough time go get fertile. Also had to many birds per cage .i now have a 4 hen to 1 roo . Now when I check eggs I'm getting 4 out of 5 feral .

Sounds like your on the right track now 4 out of 5 is 80% not bad. I've been thinking of trying to hatch some without turning just to see what happens. I just cant see a quail or chicken turning her eggs very much.

Only ended up with 8 . I got another 80 or so set last night . Made sure the turner is plugged in and working good . Had to do a little work to free up some of the rails .
