Like when I try to determine sex by examining the vent : / Though if someone picked me up, turned me over and started pawing at my private parts I would be irritated, too.

I have one bird that makes a chirrup noise, like "prrrrr WOW" I wouldn't call it a crow but maybe that's what a quail crow sounds likeI have one that ribbets like a frog. Those are the only 2 noises I've heard other than little short chirps.

Chicken layer feed. I found one with 18% protein. Not sure where you get your feed but TSC carries Feather Fixer which is 17 or 18% proteinIs there a layer feed for quail or do you use chicken layer feed?
