quail help!

i am hatching quail soon, and all the guides for temperatures say different things! some say 95-100, some say 99, some say 98-101, but which one is it?

Everything I've read lately is 99.5 to100 and high humidity,not sure how high. I'm getting quail eggs this week. Good luck. Monarc and Purple Chicken have alot of threads on quail.

99.5 - 100 is the perfect ....101.5 or so is the oops on the high side...I do better with higher humidity but we are so dry out here that most of my humidity gets lost...just remember that no matter how good of a job you are doing shipping eggs through the mail is risky business and it is hard to tell if it was your fault or not...I have run 80% on my own quail and at the same time gotten like 10% on shipped eggs...good luck!!

Depends on whether your using a still air or forced air. Still airs are usually run a little higher. Also while quail will hatch at the same temp as chicks so many quote that temp they seem to do slightly better at a bit lower temp. I'd set a still air 100-101 and a forced air 99-100. I also kept the minimum humidity about 5% higher for the quail than when I hatch chickens.

I had mine in the bator with my regular chicks. I kept the humidity on the high side of what they suggest for chicks (I usually keep it more on the low side as if I were dry hatching, except that i can't dry hatch in Utah because the humidity is way too low.) The temps were the same, and I had a really decent hatch especially for shipped eggs.
