Hello,

I was wondering if I could keep any coturnix quail in a 10 gallon tank? Or is it too small?
How about button quail?

(The tank measures 20" in length, 10" in width, and 12" inches in height)

I would think it would be too small for coturnix certainly, i don't know anything about buttons but the is really about 1.5 square feet of floor space and by the time you put in food and water that does not leave much room. Plus, i would be concerned that the glass would make the air at floor level noxious unless it was cleaned multiple times per day. Personally I wouldn't recommend it.

Okay, thanks! I thought it was probably too small for coturnix, but I just wanted to be sure. I'm still wondering if button quail would be okay in it though.

I wouldn't use an aquarium birds need fresh venting air. And the glass I would imagine would make it hot. It seems they would be prone to sicknesses especially respiratory

Hello,

There's going to be room designated for food and water plus a sand bath - also you really should have hiding spots/things to break the line of sight of quail living together so things stay peaceful and if there's a problem hopefully they can hide until you can solve it.

So all of these necessary things will take up some space, are you planning on getting a male? :)
