Hello, I have 7 coturnix quail that are 11 weeks old and they aren't laying anything. If anyone could help that would be great!

If you are in the area of the world that is going in to winter, they are not going to lay until next spring. Quail are seasonal layers, in other words, they lay when nature tells them it is time. Spring thru fall. If you really want eggs, you will need to add light and possibly heat if your nights and days are cold, and that will trigger their laying machines. The light needs to be on for the early hours of the morning and then again a few hours after sunset. Generally 13 to 14 hours of light will keep them laying. Never leave lights on 24/7. As for heat, it will need to stay above freezing for continuous laying. Always offer crushed oyster shell during periods of laying.

wow, I didn't know that, thank you so much!!!!

They need 14 hours of light. Mine never needed heat just the light. I have a group that just started laying. And we are entering winter. Good luck
