Hi I have a few courtnix quail and one of them can’t use one of her legs. She just keeps dragging it behind but seems healthy otherwise eating drinking and laying. I have separated her from the others but now I don’t know what to do. There is a small swell at the top of her leg but other than that it seems fine other than the fact she can’t move it or stand on it. Please help. What should I do??

Can you post pictures of her feet and legs? You might be able to help with shoes or hobbles, but you might need to cull.

Could only get a pic of the foot but I think the problem is in the leg I’ll try to get another but she is still eating and drinking as normal and keeps trying to walk. I’m thinking of maybe making a splint but not sure where to put it because the whole leg just seems to have gone limp what do u guys think?

Is this a new thing? If she’s acting normal than I wouldn’t cull her just because she might have a dodgy leg because if she’s happy and healthy she still deserves to live! :)
Yes it’s a new thing and thank youuu I really don’t want to cull her either because she is acting completely normal in every other way I’m probably just going to keep her with me inside for a while until she is good enough to go back outside 😁

That looks like an injury of some sort. If a vet isn't an option, your best option is what you're doing. See if you can get a good look at the leg, though, in case you can see any obvious break or injury. If the skin is broken, make sure to keep it clean and apply a non pain relief bacterial wash.

You said it’s limp and she drags it behind, but in the photo she is holding it up. Dragging a limp leg sounds like a slipped tendon or other soft tissue damage, holding it up seems like it is not soft tissue. Check the bottom of the foot and the leg for any cuts, bumps, or swelling.

Hi there’s no obvious injury other than it’s a little swollen and has gone a bit yellow what does this mean? On the bright side she managed to move it slightly this morning so I’m hoping that’s a good sign
