Edit: The bird was unfortunately culled.
My 6 week old male quail has lost his upper beak in a presumed fight. He seems to be doing fine. Judging by the wound's look, he seems to have lost it 2~ hours ago. I tried to find the other fighter but I couldn't narrow it down. He is not bleeding anymore. I have not seen the bird eat or drink since I checked on them last, about 5 o' clock yesterday. I think he has eaten/drunk after that though. His poop looks normal. I have separated him from the rest of the covey, and I want to be able to fix him up as best as I can w/o a vet's help. Their bedding is just a penned-in area consisting almost entirely of dirt. Their housing is a wooden box with a divider in the middle. No bedding in the house yet.
