I have 4 year old female coturnix quail and only one laying daily which u found surprising being the height of spring where i expected them to all lat or even bether be broody.
I was wondering whether it could be because they don't like living with rabbits in their large aviary or even me but I hatched and raised them around rabbits their entire life- try don't seem scared. I feed them layers pellets, oyster she'll grinding for calcium, vegetables and food straps as well as insects that I collect if this could be useful for explaining. The one that does lay scatters her eggs and doesn't understand the nest box idea. Can you help?

They may be molting, which is shedding feathers and taking a rest from laying. Did they all stop laying around the same time and start shedding feathers and now only one has started up laying again? If so they may just not be done molting. Did the three that aren't laying never lay? If they never laid eggs they might be males that can't lay. Also, the length of day light they get affects their laying, if the day length they are experiencing is short (less than 10 hours) they may stop laying. They could also be ill.
