Hey so first time having courtaix quail they are 4 weeks old on monday. They havae been in the shed until now in a brooder. We are building a new chicken coop ... the plan is for the chickens to be in coop up top with a ramp down to walk in coop. Plan is to put quail underneath at the bottom 2 sidea are built up with wood but gona put wiring on the other 2 sides and put a box in corner with hole in for them to come in and out wen they wana. My question is at nite time.... will they be safe? I know they dont like to go in at nite but can hide in box if theres a cat or fox any suggestions opinions be appreciated p.s. chickens and quakl will not have access to each other xx
Thanks
Sam xx

I think if you put lights inside that come on just before sunset and turn off shortly afterwards that they will go inside to the light... I have never tried it and I am by no means an expert, but it seems worth a try. It also might extend their laying period, which I don't know if that is a problem or not. Good luck with your quail!
