Quail poo n wire bottom cages

Hi,
Does their poo fall through the wire pretty easily or do you find you are scraping it off much?
I have some large cages that have 4 seperate cages in them and they are wire bottom, thought I might move my quail into myback porch room where I have one of these and wondered if the poo falls through easily I would be able to sweep it up easier.

What size wire?
Mine never build up on my breeding pens but can on the smaller grow out pens.

I believe it is the rabbit type wire.
maybe 1/4 X 1/4?

My quails' cages have 1/2 x 1 wire on the bottoms, so no problems with sticking poo. That is, provided the chickens aren't sleeping on top of the quails' cages

I think you'll have trouble with the 1/4 wire, I had that on some buttons, and most would fall through, but not all.

No rabbit cage has .25x.25. You're probably thinking of the .5x.5. That should be fine. However, if you do get something stuck on it, get it off asap or it'll only build up.

If its 1/4 x 1/4 you will have a problem. I built a pen for my buttons and it is a constant problem. My quail pens that are outside the wire is 1/2 x 1/2 wire and i never have a problem with those

I think they will like being on the backporch versus barn, more enclosed.
