I am now raising Jumbo Browns and Texas A&M's. I have had an offer for as many birds as I can hatch from a hunting club here in my state but I have no idea as to what prices to charge nor at what age I should try to sell them. Any and all info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading and may God bless you.

I am not sure why a hunting club would want them they don't flush like bob's, that said I think I would cry if I only got 1 to 2 dollars for them it cost more then that to hatch and raise them. Here in Michigan I get 4 to 5 bucks each for the browns

UM, UH........ NO, MORE LIKE 1-2 EACH:(

Are you absolutely sure they know what you're offering? Because unless they want them for meat as a large quail club supper function coturnix will be useless to them, as well as the fact you must be state licenced to have them and it is illegal to release them here in florida in any manner. After last summer's great snake round up the last thing anyone wants to see is the game warden with a case against you for illegal release of unauthorized exotic speces, as they have lost what little sense of humor they may have had about this...

And as a side note, it's also illegal to release domestic reared Bob White unless permitted by the state.

I get $2.00 for live quail for hunters wanting to train their dogs to point and return the shot birds. I don't see a problem with releasing coturnix into the wild to hunt nor train dogs as they will not sit the eggs themselves...This is rare at best and also they don't live long due to preditors.. With all that said please check with your local Ag dept. or game wardens to double check all released animals.
As a beekeeper I have seen first hand what introduction of a foreign pest can do.

I'm in North Florida as well, and we sell day olds for 1.00, 4 or 6 weekers (don't need extra heat) for 2.00-2.50, and 8 weeks and over (mature and laying) 4.00-5.00 each.
We sell enough to pay for the feed to raise birds for our freezer at no cost. Not much profit after that.

I think it may be illegal in FL to release any quail other than Bob Whites. And as has been pointed out, they don't flush...mine fly out of the cages occasionally, and just sit, waiting to be picked up.
Not much sport there....You probably need to have a specific conversation with the buyer regarding the type of quail they are looking for. I'm guessing they don't understand that Coturnix and Bobwhite are
not the same. You might make one sale before they realize that Coturnix's are not what they need....but I think it's better to be upfront initially.

We have a neighbor who belongs to a hunt club, and he says they pay 2.00-3.00 for Bob White chicks, but no one has time/space to brood them. So there may be a market for adult birds in the 5-6.00 range.
They take more time than Coturnix to mature, but may not consume as much feed.

Since you have a ready and willing buyer, it may be worthwhile to work with them and raise some Bob's, keeping close track of expenses, and charge accordingly. You won't get rich, but if you have the time
and enjoy the birds...why not?

Also, before setting eggs, get a deposit. We've been stiffed doing custom hatches...were able to sell most on craigslist, but suddenly having to house 150 quail is no fun. A deposit will make the buyer more committed.

Have you asked what their budget looks like for quail? If they only have a budget for $1 each, and that doesn't pay your feed bill for the year, then its out. Also say they have $500 to spend on quail and you can produce 1000 quail, you need to know you only have 250-500 sold if you are asking $1-2 each. If you're going to hatch them and they will take all you can get them, try posting them on craigslist for $3-4 each and if they don't sell by the time you want them to, sell them for cheaper to the club. At least you could get a few buyers at a better price that way.

Just my $.02.
