The Bob-Bird is a new cross between a Bobwhite species and Coturnix species. Developed for the Dog training /hunting market. In our breeders' field trials, bird displayed an unpredictable flight pattern and returned to the retrieval cage. Environmentally friendly as the birds do not covey up and reproduce in the wild per our breeders' experience. Coloration of chicks will be variable.

Adult wt. 12-14 oz.

BOB-BIRD Compered to the Bob White.

*Bob Bird matures in 6 to 8 weeks - Bob White matures in 17 to 21 weeks
*Bob Bird unpredictable flight pattern - Bob White covey and spray pattern
*Bob Bird will not reproduce in wild - eliminates environmental changes and future predator problems.
*Bob Bird is naturally disease resistant
*Bob Bird takes less space to raise - while males can be aggressive they are not overly stressed in crowded conditions
*Bob Bird is 4-6oz. heavier than northern Bob White
*Bob Bird cost less than $3.50 at maturity - Bob White cost is $7.00 and up!

So by doing the math, a Northern Bob is only 8oz adult weight? Sounds like a Moby Quail promotion to me. Just how the heck do you cross a Cort to a Bob and end up with a bigger bird than the Bob? And another thing, how would such a cross make the mutt a superior flyer to a pure bob? Somebody's got a bridge for sale.

That's why I said I didn't trust it. This is the same thing from Stromberg's except worded slightly different. I guess the only thing to do is to try it. I wonder if the offspring is sterile like mules...

Pam Moore, one of the suppliers of strombergs, sold her business and moved to Cali (retired)... She was able to reproduce them so they aren't sterile. I don't have them but heard they weren't really as great as the advertisments on them. They grew fast like the coturnix and look like the tibetans in my opinion.

Since it says they come in different colors doesn't it depend on the color of the coturnix rooster? A cross with a butler bobwhite would be neat...
