I just picked up 7 5-6 week old coturnix quail. Two roos and 5 hens. Is the roo to hen ratio too high or do I need both of them? I also have 3 dozen quail eggs in the incubator but the lady I got them from said that she was only having a 40% hatch rate (good thing they were cheap lol). Any advice welcome.

You only need one rooster for those hens. I have 6 hens one rooster and my poor girls are all bald headed he runs them ragged. As far as her hatch rate being low it all depends on her set up and how stressed her birds are all kinds of scenarios if you get your girls and one rooster together give em time to mellow out in their new place but get rid of that other rooster just causes stress in the group.
