I have not been on here in many many years, of course I wasoutof the quail game for many many years....
I got jumbo this time from My Shire. These eggs that my new quail laid seem quite a bit larger than what I remember my eggs being from my local mutt stock I had acquired before
I have my old quail racks, but as I look at these eggs (did not weigh, neednew battery for it) my guess is they are pushing 14-16 grams? Just an educated guess, but they are far bigger than the quarter-sized ones Iused to get
I have about 110 right now ready for the incubator (it is warmed up and ready now) but starting to look at the rails a bit and thinking maybe these bigger eggs may catch on the edge of the rail next door?
I looked in this forum for this, but I am probably not looking in the correct place for my answer
Just to give you an idea, the hens are all about 14 weeks old now, and weigh in at over 14 ounces, so they are rather big birds (at least compared to what I used to have)
If I have the wrong racks, is there one I can use? partridge? does little giant even sell such a thing? I own 2 incubators, one isn't ready to roll, and I only have 1 egg turner, but can acquire another one tomorrow if need be.
