Hi everyone so I have had quails for three years now and today my Japanese qual who is my oldest one and is a mail has stopped eating and drinking and his eyes are closing and his head is shaking and he seems very lethargic he has been having diarrhoea for about 3-4 days but he usually has this once-in-a while anyway and doesn't seem to have any problems when he Usually has diarrhoea. Recently about a week ago I had a fox attack one of my chickens and the chickenswas being kept in the same area where this particular quail is. This is my favourite male qual and I can't stand to lose him .any help and advice would he really really appreciated :(

Keep him in quarantine and every now and then let him out you should put him on antibiotics

Make sure that he is drinking plenty of water, and some electrolytes may help. Watery feed is a good way to get fluids into them. I don't have quail, but all poultry can suffer from coccidiosis, which is treated with amprollium (Coxoid in the UK, Corid in the US.) A probiotic or plain cultured yogurt in very small amounts twice a week can sometimes help with diarrhea. If a vet is available, you may want to get some fresh droppings tested.
