Quail were freaking out during the earthquake on the 5th.

I happened to be in my garage when the 7.1 quake hit and I saw my quail freaking out right before everything started shaking. Anyone else experience something like that? I suppose they are from Japan, so they ought to know about quakes.

I just moved out of SoCal in February. I kinda feel left out from experiencing them at a distance. I lived in Cucamonga.

Years ago we had a tiny midwest earthquake in the middle of the night and I woke up to my parrot freaking out right before the quake. He apparently sensed something before I could feel anything.

I've read about other instances of animals 'predicting' earthquakes.

My husbands parents cat freaked out before a minor quake. They were visiting from Oklahoma with the cat. Meanwhile my California native dog and cat didn’t react at all.

Today my button quail started getting loud. Seconds later I felt vibrations and a sonic sound under my feet. Dishes rattled in my kitchen. The second it stopped, they got quiet. This was in Georgia.
