Quail wont lay eggs

Hi... I have 6 male and 6 female coturnix jumbo quail...they are about 6 months old but they wont lay eggs. I only get one egg every week or every two weeks but that seems to low for 6 females. Please help!!

Quail are better than chickens about laying through winter, but they can still sometimes take a break when the days are short.

Also, your male to female ratio is potentially dangerous/stressful to your birds. It's recommended that there be at least four females for every male in your flock. Roosters can turn on each other if there's too much competition for mates, and hens can be over-mated to death.
