Quail

I keep them in a frame of a round tub tell they can jump out usually 2 weeks of age then I open it up to a big room where they can run they are on concreate and it’s cleaned every week. By the time they can really start to fly good when they walk it’s like they have a bad back and they have to fly on the ground to move

I have them on cedar shavings on top of the concreate. Yes I have them on a poultry diet for flight birds. This is the first time I’ve had this happen in 4 yrs I use to raise them in stock tanks tell they were old enough for flight pen. Switched over to sectioned off rooms this year and now this is happening.

I am not sure if this is the problem but you should never use cedar wood shavings with chicks or adult birds. The oils will hurt their air sacs eventually killing the birds.

Can you make a video of these birds? I am still not sure what you are talking about with broken backs. Maybe if I saw what you were talking about, I could figure it out?

So what should I use for bedding? And how do I upload a video on here?

You can use pine shavings, grass hay, straw or mulch.

Click on the icon above that looks like film tape, (two icons to the right of the smilie face) follow the instructions there.
