Probably a stupid question...

Why do people raise quail? I know that quail eggs are common in asian cuisine, but not so much here, so I was wondering if quail are mostly pets or do people raise them for the eggs or meat?

I got mine for tiny eggs to put in my son's bento box lunches (see separate thread on bentos!) I was thinking about them right when Purple Chicken got some and he gave me six! For us they're pets and egg producers.

I am raising button quail just for pets.

I currently have 1 coturnix but plan on tting more in the spring for meat and eggs.ge
