Hi Everyone. My name is Wayne and my wife and I have a very small Homestead here. Located actually in a Sub-Division here in North Eastern Tennessee. Near the Appellations/Smokey Mountains. Since this crazy sub-division has a covenant with stipulations, it actually says no chickens. But, I have gone to the police and asked them what do they think about that? I was told by our local police department here, to simply disregard an outdated covenant written almost 13 years ago. Basically, almost anyone in American should have the freedom to at least have hens. That's per our Police department. Thus, to skirt around that whole issue, I decided to step into Quail raising. Quail meat is more nutritious than chicken meat and Quail eggs though small as they are, are superior with major health benefits over any chicken egg. 3 Quail eggs equal more or less the quantity of substance of the chicken egg. Anyway, I might step into chickens at some point in time but focusing right now on Meat and Eggs from Quail. Our homestead is also all about fruits and berries. On this 1/2 acre, I have planted this past 2.5 years over 30 plus fruit trees and nut trees along with many different types of berry bushes. I am also doing Grapes. So, Quail will be a good solution for us personally as we have limited space. Perhaps someday, acquire more land. But who knows. Happy to be here with everyone. Blessings, Wayne
