Chickcommander : Quail are easy and fun. They dont need much space. Can live inside or out. They dont often smoke or cuss. Very cute and docile birds and their eggs are wonderful to eat. If you want some hatching eggs, PM me and I will send you a carton for free.

For anybody who is wondering, they are on dirt.

i have five quails. 2 males and 3 female. i get three eggs everyday. if i do some research i could send you some fertilized eggs. i don't know how to do that. but get back to me if you want more info.
i'm not sure if you want to incubate eggs or get live birds. but i got my quails from Elijah Marks. he is in VA. i believe his website is still called Furbelow Farms.

my 14 quail chicks do that everyday. they love to scratch their food all over the box and crap in the water.

Hey do you guys know the survival rate for chicks? Like 1 in 10 dies or 1 in 2 or what? Thanks!

Oh, and what is hatch rate for incubating eggs?

Once they get past 3 days old, most all of them will live unless they do something stupid. The hatch rate can vary by quite a bit. If you are hatching your own eggs from your own birds, your hatch rate should be well into the 80-90's percent. We had 7 medium hatches in a row at 100% during the late summer. On shipped eggs, 50% hatch rate is normal. That is if NOTHING goes wrong in the transportation phase.
