qual with bald heads, and scabs from fighting.

I need to cull some quail, but was curious are the ones with scabs bad to eat? Should I take a chance? They are just on their heads, but no idea if they have diseases?!?!

They're not bad as long as not infected. Chances are you have too many males per female ratio and that is actually "love" marks not fighting. The little hens are getting abused. I would pick your favorite male and cull the rest, leave the hens if you are trying to develop a breeding/raising program.

Put topical antibiotic or blue coat (wound coat) spray on the wounds...
 
My son was fussing because the hens had a few scabs. So I explained it was from the males grabbing them when the mate..

His reply...
