So I got two new harlequin ducks from the same place on wednesday and have kept them seperate from from flock and wore different shoes went going to them and stuff like that. I just walked outside and one of them, sweet little stinker, got out and was happily grasshopper hunting with the other ducks. slap.gif
So.... Is it any use to continue quarantine, or should I just let her, or both ducks be with the others?

How long have they been quarantined for?
Even if one escaped, best to keep in quarantine just to be on the safe side. Little exposure can still be less harmful than full on exposure.

Ducks are more hardy than chickens and less likely to carry diseases and spread it, but its still good to practice quarantine methods. Even if it's to prevent something non life threatening such as mites. You just never know and it's always best to find those out in a small number rather than a whole flock at once!

About a week. I already treated them for lice, mites, and all those external bugs. And somehow one of my ducks that wasn't being quarantined got into the quarantine pen. Not sure how. Then both quarantined birds got out and have been with the flock a day. Should I keep quarantining just in case then?
