:(My 6 week cornish x weigh 6 lbs live weight now, is that light for 6 weeks? I'd like to have them dress out at 5.5 to 6 lbs, will that possibly happen in 2 weeks?: Also, they eat during daylight hours but sleep in the dark.

That seems like it's right on track....from what I've read from other forum posters. I haven't raised the Cornish X at all yet.

I'd say you are right on track with that weight at 6 weeks. They can definetly make it to your target weight in 2 more weeks. Try to get around a half of a pound of feed in each them everyday from here on out.

No problem big red feather, they've eaten 225 lbs food so far, almost 300 lbs. a 50 lb bag for the 14 only lasts me 5 days. they are expensive!!

They need a lot of food to make that fast growth. You can check and make sure no birds or vermin are eating your poultry food. Use a feeder where they can't spill and waste.

But I beat you aren't too far off on feed usage.

The reason that the quick growth is a benefit is that the pain of buying the feed ends soon.

Nothings eating their food, they are piranas. I had no idea how much food they would eat,n LOL

GAWD! where are you raising them. my cornish X were only 3lbs at 6 weeks. They had food constantly and fresh water too.
What kind of feed are you giving them?

I don't know about the OP, but our birds are raised from day one on a 22% protein broiler starter/grower.
