Quechua Thread

Here she is.
So that little hen is part Koro Sea that is great she is a little sweetheart I still have her Is there anyway to breed her back to more Koro Sea bloodline? She is so cute I would love to try to recreate a closer bloodline with her.

Was just guessing, there's no crest which totally through me off. I never sent a pic to have it identified. Should have put that a little differently, i love the little buggers and try to refer people to you if they like them. I just want to make sure i am not telling them the wrong thing.

Will any breeders here be offering hatching eggs next year for Sweet Potato Quechua or Mapuche Huastec? Also, is the gene pool diverse enough to breed the siblings together to establish a closed flock?

Are there any breeders who will have Quechua hatching eggs this year? I would like to get some from two different breeders, hopefully of unrelated bloodlines.

It's remarkable how quiet it is when one asks for hatching eggs.
I'm in Europe on top of this, so I dont expect I'll be seeing any hatching eggs before I collect them myself :b

Welcome to BYC brixvold!  I hope to get a response, as this breed seems to need conservation and would be a shame if they were lost.

These are simply Easter Eggers. They are trying to to preserve the classic looking EE's. the gold and black. They say that all are tge Quechua but they are especially the classic looking ones.

That's incorrect. I used to believe this was true (my own skepticism of Kermit), however in working with these birds extensively, I have found they they are not anything related to modern hatchery stock. If you have actually owned and worked with these birds, I'd love to hear why you disagree. If not, maybe you should defer to those who work with them.

I will not get into with you over this. I too read the thread that Kermit wrote. Even questioned him on it. He told me this was so.

Go ahead and believe what you believe. All one has to do is find the and read it for themselves.
