I'd love to see some more photos. I folow this thread because I spent 4 years in Bolivia, and hope someday to have some of the South American birds in my little flock. But I live practically in Downtown Denver, and can't have any roosters or more than 8 hens. I only have 5 right now because I want to save some room in case any Quechua, Collonca, Huastec, Olmec, or Mapuche come available. So now you know I'm hoping that even if not for breeding or genetic preservation, I'd love to have one of these birds.

On a side note, last I saw anything about Resolution, he was living in Southwest Colorado. He would be "near" enough that I thought I might get a bird or two from him. Does anyone know if he's still raising these birds and whether he's still in Colorado?

I would like to get hatching eggs from two different breeders. I think it may be a challenge to find hatching eggs from just one breeder.

He's back in New England. Not really sure who's taking care of those birds right now... I wouldn't spend too much time on that lead if I were you.

Thanks, Yashar, for responding. Well, I will just have to wait and see what comes up here and on the other threads that might lead me to some individual South American birds.

My Sweet Potato flock died off. They were very disease prone and not hardy, the complete opposite of Black Quechua Olmec. They laid blue and cream eggs. I was never impressed by them.

The Sweet Potato are/were my first choice, but I've been reading Resolutions threads, and Yashar's descriptions and it may be Colloncas could be the better choice, because they may be more predator savvy. Does anyone have them? Are the Black Quechua Olmec the ones that lay the sea green eggs?
