When I had the chicks out stretching their legs, I heard the strangest sound, when I looked up the Queen was looking in the back door window, she was acting all funny, making these weird 'growling' sounds and sputtering sounds, I thought she had gone and lost her poor chicken mind, she is one of our older hens and she rules the roost.
Please excuse the dirty window, I hadn't clean that yet when I snapped the photo real quick, I need to record her doing these sounds, they are really hard to describe but you can tell she was watching those little chicks and could tell she was trying to figure out how to get to them.
