I have a question about a hen and her setting on eggs.
I have a a hen go broody and am trying to get her to set a clutch of eggs which aren't hers. I moved her to a quiet place in the garage with 'her' nest of eggs. After only a couple minutes she went over and got on them. However, since then, she moved the eggs about, had one kicked out to the side and since has returned it to the nest of eggs. Only now, she is only laying on about half of the eggs. The others are near her, just not under her... Can anyone tell me is this something that is common and will she eventually pull them all under her and do my incubating for me? Or is it a sign that she may be picky and only want to set on some of them? I have a small incubator at ideal temp that I was going to use but I figured if I can let her do it, it would be better.
Thanks for any help...
