This is my first time incubating and raising chicks. I had 16 hatch and it's a mixed assortment of chicks, all hatched between the 23rd and 25th. Everyone is doing great, but I do have a question about one. I call him (well him or her) my teddy bear, because that's what he reminds me of. He is the calmest of the clutch and he is still a big ball of puff, his wings are shorter than everyone else and so are his legs. He's usually by himself and not with the group as they run around the pool, infact he's the easiest to catch and he will stand in my hand with no issues. He walks, but it's more of a waddle like a penguin. Here are some pictures, is this the demeaner and look of his breed or is there something wrong with him? I got the special assortment from McMurry's so I'm not sure of all the breeds I have.. Other than I know I have a top hat and a number of feather footed. This particular one is a feather footed. Here are the pictures.

And this one isn't focused on the chick, but it gives you a side view of him.

I'm going to try to figure out all the breeds to get a better handle on all the chicks, but this one is different from all the rest. Even though they won't be living with me much longer I'd like to know what I raised! They will be moving to my parent's farm in 3 weeks.

Thanks for any info.

The comb is the part between the eyes on the head? if so there is a small single comb... if it's something else then I don't know. I'm so very new to all of this. Sorry .

So if it is a blue cochin, does he look normal? He just seems so much smaller than the others that look similar and his leggs seem short and same with the wings. He's so calm, he falls asleep in my hands.

Nope, WHITE cochin. I have three in my basement right now. Is this a bantam or a standard? The white feathers will replace the gray down when they come in. You are going to love it.
