I am on day 21. I have had 5 of 17 hatch already. I have 5 that I really really want to hatch and noticed they are the only ones not pipped yet. They are chirping inside the egg, no pip, will they run out of air if they have not pipped yet? I thought you would only hear the chirp once they pipped the actual shell, not just the membrane inside. Should I give them an air hole or leave well enough alone?

If they were mine I would not open anything on day 21...they aren't ready to hatch....

I also would not touch the eggs, they will make a pip when they are ready. No rushing them. I had a chick hatch out for me on day 26 many years ago. If a large portion are "late" could be the temp flux in the bator, all the way to a particular maiting pair of 'late hatchers'.

Thanks. I will leave them alone. I just didnt know how much air they had in the egg itself without them pipping.
