Question about air sacs.

How is the incubation going? Did the air cells reattach? I ask because I'm in the same situation. I'm allowing my eggs to sit & plan to set them tomorrow. All of mine have detached air cells (wiggling & loose looking) & three are actually rolling around like a level's bubble. I plan to not turn them for at least a couple days into incubation.

Hi Michelle;
I only just stumbled onto your post so it is most likely not relevant any more but, just in case you need answers, here goes.
Your problem is quite likely not with the eggs but with your humidity level when incubating.
An egg needs to lose approximately 14% of its initial weight during incubation for the air sac to develop fully.
If your humidity is too high (I believe 40% is adequate) during the first 18 days the developing chick will fill the shell.
When this happens the chick can not follow normal hatching procedures which are to first pip into the air sac, then after a rest spell of several hours it would 'unzip' the shell.


I realise this is probably too late but I hope it may be of some help to you or another reader in the future.
