Question about automatic doors and mature Brahma chickens.

Has anyone had any issues with the standard-sized automatic doors and Brahma chickens? I plan on getting Brahmas and want an auto door, but I am not sure if the standard sizes of most doors will be appropriate when the chickens reach maturity.

I don't have an automatic door but mine go through a 7" wide by 9" high door on my brooder section of my coop.
Even my big rooster (not a brahma) will use it without hesitation.

We have an Ador pop door, it is 13" Height x 10.5" Width and our Brahmas go thru it with no issues.

If you have hatchery/feed store brahmas they will fit just fine through most. If you get purebred breeder stock from a good show breeder, you will need a larger door like the Run Chicken XL.

I figured they might need larger. I will most likely end up with hatchery Brahmas to start, but I may eventually get to find the larger stock.

I know it’s not a recommendation thread but check out Blue Hour Poultry in Oregon for Brahmas, only have Darks and Lights but they are absolutely gorgeous birds. I’m always envious when I see them.
