question about BB Red OEGB pullets....not an emergency

I have two pullets & the skin on their faces & combs seems pale to me. I had an older hen (died) of the same breed a while back and I remember her having more color to her face. But I got her as an adult...these are youngsters. They seem fine...eat, drink, talk to me (gotta love that)....they just don't seem to have much color in their skin. dr in summerfield NC

Are they raised on the ground or a wire bottom cage? Usually chickens that are raised indoors or in a wire bottom outdoor cage have pretty pale faces.

Being raised indoors.....lack of sunshine? Its been so cold (snow, ice, etc) here and I didn't want to put them in with the chicken yard ... aside from being young, they are tiny. Thanks for the response!
