Question about Breed EE + Ameraucana

Hello!

I had a little chick hatch this morning, it is crossed between an EE rooster & a pure black Ameraucana hen.
The chick is pure black with a light colored chest. The Roo it came from is a Partridge/Wheaten colored.

Since the chick is pure black (very dark legs as well) & doesn't have the normal chipmunk look like most EE's have does that possibly mean it could be a pullet? I'm still learning about genetics its a lot too learn.

Hi! I have had ameraucanas before, but I don't know that much about EEs. I would say that it could be either at this age, and you wouldn't be able to tell. Sorry. If you post a picture in about a month, you might get a better prediction.

The chipmunk pattern is not linked in any way to gender.

I assumed that, but this chick doesn't have the EE chipmunk pattern.

Not all EE have the chipmunk pattern. They come in many different colors and patterns. It just depends on the lineage.
