Question about broodiness

Hello,
After laying 13 straight 1 egg per day my girl heather missed 2 days without an egg so i assumed that the HOT HOT 89 degree heat played a role in her egg laying laying 1 egg every other day but she has now resuming to lay 1 egg a day again but still continues to sit on that 1 egg for hours on end to the point where i have to stick my hand in her nesting area & chase her out & collect those daily eggs she is laying...However this evening was strange normally after i chases her out of her nest & collect that 1 egg she's out & about with henry my (roo) till they both get ready to roost henry in his coop & she roosts in the tree but at around 6:00 p.m. this evening she was back in her nest sitting with no egg until i chased her out of her nesting area again so i was wondering if she was going to lay another egg or if she was going to roost in her nesting area but i wouldn't know if she was going to roost there had i not chased her out but the reason i chased her out is b/c of the stray cats that roam that area...Hmmm now i really wondering if she is going broody!!! I have NEVER EVER dealt with a girl hen so i was wondering if this is normal behavior with hens like her... Hope she isn't sick!! When she is out & about with the roo she acts normal she eats & drinks like normal...
Note: Sometimes my henry acts aggressive towards her like he dances around her dropping one wing down & hops on top of her & pecking her head this only last like less than a minute & then they go their merry way foraging...Just concern if this is normal behavior as like i said i've never had a girl hen act this way.... And if she is going broody how can i break her cycle??? Again any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a bunch yall are appreciated!!!

That is Henry mating her. The boys aren't so gentle with their ladies. And I think your hen is fine and normal. I just leave my hens to their chicken business and only worry about them if they are sick. (Lethargic, proofed up, messy bottom, pale comb.. )

Hello,
Thanks for all the reply but Omg Thursday & Friday my girl heather has laid an egg 2 day is Saturday & my heather has gone into her nesting area at around 10:10 this morning its 12:30 p.m chased her out of her nesting area & thinking she had laid her 1 egg per day & as usual tried to collect that 1 egg but no egg so i assume she'd be hanging out with the roo henry doing their foraging only to find her back in her nesting area sitting on an empty nest!!! I'm still not sure if she is a true brooder but sometimes i feel like giving up!!!! Smh!! I know when she is in her nesting box coz henry will roam that area & crow & make food noises trying to get her OUT!!! It is 89 degrees & scorching HOT & i refuse to stay out in the sun trying everything to get her out!!! My poor henry waits patiently crowing for hours to try & get her off her nest!!! HELP WHAT TO DO next!!! Thanks

Just leave her be and save yourself some trouble. Watch YouTube videos on broody hens to see if she's broody.

Ok i'm pretty sure my girl heather is going broody! The first time she went into her nest i waited 3 hrs for an egg chased her out of her nest no egg she then returned to her nest waited another 3 hrs chased her out again this time an egg as i was trying to collect the egg boy was she furious making loud angry noises as i poked her with a stick she would normally make a bee line escape through the small opening of her nest however she would NOT BUDGE refusing to leave her nest so i put my hand trying to push her aside feeling for an egg by this time the cackling noises got even louder along with growling & pecking my hand!! VERY VERY STUBBORN refusing to leave!!!! Finally after poking, prodding & sticking my hand in her nest she left & so i collected that 1 egg... Still sqwaking squeeling!!...After she ate & drank she returned to her nesting area for the 3rd time on an empty nest & decided to roost there for the entirety of the night!!! Since she is feral i can't block or her nest coz my biggest fear is that if i do block her nest & prevent her from going back there i'm afraid she may leave the premesis and start laying outside my yard where i won't be able to retrieve/ have access to those eggs she is laying.... I need to pay very close as to where she is laying as i CANNOT & WILL NOT allow any baby chicks WHATSOEVER!!! Thanks yall!!! Yall been very helpful & informative!!
& know that much yall are very much appreciated!!!

If you remove the eggs every day there won't be chicks. Some people break broodiest by penning them in a hanging wire cage. You can do a search. If you aren't super attached you can get a different companion for Henry that doesn't go broody. There's plenty of breeds whose broodiness have been bred out of them. Or get another male. Without females around males usually get along well.

It usually takes a few days to break my girls' broodiness, but removing the eggs from the nest almost always works. I did have one girl that absolutely refused to break, so I finally have up and let her go the full 21 days. After one month, she pulled out of it on her own. It gets really hot here in Texas too, so I made sure I brought her corn every day to keep her energy up. I also fed her raw eggs and eggshell to keep her protein and calcium up, but I also did this for hydration as she refused to take water. Most people won't feed raw eggs because it is said to encourage eating of their own nest, but my girls have never once taken an egg from their nest.

I was about to post something just like this, however Mylied beat me to it.
Make a small cage, and put wire on all 4 sides, as well as top and bottom. Put her food and water in it. This will break her from being broody, it has a great success rate.
