Hi!!

I live on the central coast so its not cold here too often. Normally 75-85* everyday. My chicks are 9 weeks old and are still inside my house. When should i put them outside?? I bring them outside but as soon as the starts going down they come in. I would like them outside in the barn but i don't want them out there too soon. Any thoughts?? Or suggestions??

Thank you!!

At about 4 weeks, chicks are sufficiently feathered to maintain their own temperature. Since they have been indoors, putting them in the barn, for increasing durations, for a few days will help them acclimatise to the cooler temperatures. At 9 weeks, they will be fine in your barn.
