Hi , I've been interested in this breed for a long time .

My question is : do these birds fly off or are they like Muscovy ducks who stay on your land if you have them as babies .

Well, i have mine full flight BUT i pen them, i have had the odd one fly out i have it netted but i need to refine this a bit lol they do try and toddle back but um, they are REAL small and landed in fields over where they had no idea how to get back...

They are extremely pred prone that size is an issue, frankly i don't mix my sizes here either i had a female scovie go batty on my one female call because she wanted in her coop(yes, the calls lol)

That was not pretty, nobody was hurt but reconfirmed i will not mix mine( i run scovies, pekin and buffs in big flock)

My scovies are full flight too so i do 'get' what your meaning...

I should add my calls are my 'pet ducks' the rest of the breeds are 'farm ducks' so they are worthwhile if you want some personable(albeit loud!) ducks... i just had my one lady hatch a clutch this past weekend.

So cute .

Yeah no I haven't had any problem with that kind of stuff . I probably
Won't it's really all the ducks aginst the geese .

Also the Muscovys are my brothers so they don't really interact with my ducks just stay on the sane farm

When you say 'pen' do you mean the wing clipping thing or putting them in a pen

Also yeah I would put them up at night and I've read about them nothing about them flying off which is why I was asking .

I have really loud geese and just ordered peacocks so I don't think the loudness will be a problem from them

My geese are like guards I haven't had anything come get my ducks when my geese are out .
