question about combining silkie chicks/ages

I bought silkie chicks 3/10/10 from Ideal and TS. I love them but found a silkie breeder (with beautiful chicks) nearby that has available week old silkie chicks. I'm tempted to buy a few and put them in a separate brooder until they are older. At what age could I combine the two groups? Would I have to wait until they were all full grown before they were the same size?

Hmmm, I would guess keep them separate but able to see each other for about a month, then let them free range if y ou can, but what I do is put them back in their private section at night. I did this for about two weeks and they all got along, some pecking order, but otherwise, very well

Thanks! My gang grew so quick that I was not sure how long the difference in size and age would be an issue. I let my chicks out a few hours each day to free roam so maybe everything would be okay when they get used to each other.
