I have a bunch of show quality silkies that are 14 weeks old. I've been trying to determine who is a boy and who is a girl....which we all know is tough. I noticed today that a few of them that I suspect are roosters have started developing noticeable combs. The others do not. Is a comb a sign of a rooster in a silkie? Just trying to narrow it down! Thanks!

Yes, normally male silkies will have wider larger combs. You cant accuratley tell until around 6 months what sex they are. Also, you cant tell at 14 weeks what quality the chicks will be. Quality cant be determined till at least 6 months of age

Post some pics.
