question about cooking

We butchered a chicken today... (our first btw) went well! Do we need to soak it first for a while or can we cook it right away?
 
You don't need to soak it and you can cook it right away. Most would advise to rest the meat for 24 hrs but it really isn't that necessary although it may add a marginal tenderness to the texture of the meat.

how old was the bird. what method did you use to kill it? were you happy with the method you chose?
