question about coop cleaning

Nifty-chicken, ya all the birds do the #3, however when you talk about reptiles I have no clue at all about cold blooded critters. I think they are cold blooded right?

I love all living creatures, just not educated in the reptile dept.

One of our wagerers leaks or something sometimes (we have one chicken who likes to play with the watered by sticking the "chicken nipple" to make the bucket spin, I think this mat be why), so we tried putting a child's plastic sled under it inverted, so that all the moisture collects there, where it is easier to clean.

How often do you clean your coop in winter? I only clean my poop boards or nest boxes during winter on average every week one or the other.

I am subject to -40º weather l live in Canada think North Pole. I clean the coop in the spring when my deep litter thaws.

Nest boxes
In my nest boxes I fold a feed bag to fit (nest boxes are 1 ft³). When a bag gets soiled; fold a new one; pop out the soiled; pop in the new. Feed bags are a nylon mesh bag.
Frozen poop just peels off in below freezing temperatures and just flakes off in summer when left out in the sun to bake and dry.

I have almost 67 trips around the sun it is the best method I have stumbled upon. I hold the bags in place with two large paper clips on the front lip of the nest boxes.
Make sure the twine is removed from the open end of the bag it can get tangled around your birds.

we have used deep litter for a coupe years now i clean it once in the winter, then i do it twice in the summer, if nest box gets poop in it i just take poop out and add a hand full of chips then i mix them up takes about 5 mins for all 6 nests i do not use bags as we can only get the plastic once here and they are cold. i do rake the coop a coulpe times in the winter just to mix every thing up.
