I have 2 small coops and I'm about to build 1 large one that will be 6x8. It will be board and batten to cover the gaps to prevent drafts. My question is, I see a lot of coops that are made from wood planks but have gaps in them. How do people keep the drafts off their chickens like that?

Depends on where you live if gaps between wall boards are a problem or not.
Air flow is good, strong drafts can be a problem.
Board gaps could be an issue with rain infiltration and predators too.
Here's a pretty good discussion about ...

True. Predators and rain wont really be an issue for me, thankfully. And I will be adding the batten to my boards. I was just wondering how people who dont do the batten or better yet, make coops out of pallets, get away with the gaps lol.

As I keep designing coops, I like more windows. On all sides if possible. We even changed the roofing material to include a clear corrigated panel to let in light thru the roofing.
