Question about Cornish hens

even if you do everything right there is a good chance she dies early. I kept mine lean and fit and foraging everyday but on the hottest day of the year (so far) she died at 15 weeks. I wanted to breed her but she died too soon. Good luck and I hope you end up with better results than did. My next attempt will be late summer so when she sizes up the temps will be lower.
What do you feed em?

I fed the one I was rationing feed to Dumor (hate the brand) 15% Grower Finisher. When she started laying I would have fed her Southern States Laying Crumbles (16%) But she didn't get that far. I only fed Dumor because it was the lowest protein feed available to me with no extra calcium. If I could get a better brand at 15% I would have.

I use nutrena chicken food. It seems to work good, I give her bug varieties, give her grit as a baby and an adult now, and she has an acre to to roam. And, she is super healthy, just has some feather loss, that’s the only problem. The surprising thing I find is that I have to always have food there, or else she will eat so fast she chokes and hiccups! They have to have extra care though, they need extra vitamins, mine gets rooster booster twice a week (half a dropper) because of that, she is super healthy! I love her a lot. They do eat more but mine lays good sized eggs.

1 of My Cornish Rooster's attacked my son today. Only a scratch but enough to make me scared for my son so he's got to go
