Question about counting days

This may be a dumb question, but when counting days is day #1 when you set the eggs or do you count one after a 24 hour period. Like set on Monday count one on Tuesday 2 on wed etc...

It's not a dumb question. Day 1 is after the first 24 hours. So the day you set them is Day 0 and 24 hours later Day 1 starts.

Ok thank you! On another note I just woke up, and I guess I didn’t secure the top of my incuview properly because the top had slightly slipped off at the temp was 85 degrees. It was probably running like that most of the night...... I am pretty devastated right now, do you think the chicks are done for? I just candled them yesterday for the first time.

It does take quite awhile for the core temperature of the eggs to drop low enough to kill the developing embryo and at 85 they would have cooled pretty slowly. Keep incubating and hopefully most, if not all, will be fine.

Yeah its the day after it starts, I only sort of worked this out when I gave my girl fertile eggs on the 1st and they hatched on the 22nd (mother's day❤❤) when I actually expected them on the 21st!
