I have a question about a bantam rooster that's acting kind of crazy. It's a porcelain d'uccle that is about 4 months old. I took 5 chicks out in the yard that are 5 weeks old and put them in a rabbit cage on the ground to see how my older ones would treat them. My porcelain immediately ran to them and would lean against the cage, stampering his feet, held wing down close to the ground, and hopped around the cage while still leaning against it. Then change directions and did it again going back the other way. He wouldn't stop until I picked him up. Today, I went out by the coop just carrying one of the 5 week old chicks, and he did it again, only going around my feet. Would that be a warning dance and wants to fight, or is that a happy/excited dance? I have never seen that behavior before. Has anybody else?
